Atomica, Pack Plays, Is That A Fact clash in Eileen Cliggott Memorial Trophy
TOMORROW’S nine-race card at Caymanas Park will be highlighted by the $2-million Eileen Cliggott Memorial Trophy, a Graded Stakes/Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward over 6½ furlongs (1,300m).
Despite a small field of five runners, the presence of top contenders Atomica, Pack Plays, and Is That A Fact promises a thrilling contest from start to finish.
Here’s a breakdown of each runner and their chances of winning:
1. WALL STREET TRADER (USA): (6 dk b/br g by Vancouver – Selva) – Was well off the pace in the Mouttet Mile on December 7, 2024, finishing 12th by 16 lengths. However, he has been training well since then and could make a significant impact in this smaller field. Wall Street Trader’s recent morning workouts have been impressive, and he may be ready to turn his form around.
2. ATOMICA: (6 ch m by Nuclear Wayne – Honkeytonkville) – The two-time Horse of the Year returns after a disappointing 10th-place finish in the Mouttet Mile. Atomica should appreciate the smaller field, and may attempt to take the lead and dictate the pace. With her impressive track record and class, Atomica is a strong contender for the top spot.
3. PACK PLAYS (USA): (4 dk b/br c by Stay Thirsty – Standard Deal) – Finished third by 2¼ lengths over 5½ furlongs on December 24, 2024. Prior to that, he was sixth in the Mouttet Mile. Pack Plays is expected to be a strong contender in this race and should battle for top honours. His recent performances suggest he has the speed and endurance to compete with the best.
4. MONEY MARKET: (5 b h by Successful Native – Soca Dancer) – Appears to be outclassed in this field. Money Market’s recent form has been inconsistent, and he may struggle to keep up with the pace set by the top contenders.
5. IS THAT A FACT (USA): (5 b h by Palace Malice – Valid Code) – Should benefit from the reduced field size. Is That A Fact has been impressive in morning training and is expected to deliver a strong performance. With his recent workouts and less competition, Is That A Fact may be a dark horse contender for the top spot.
